Authentic French Napoleon III mantel clock from the second half of the 19th century (c. 1870-1890). The Napoleon III period is known for its rich decoration, luxurious materials, and refined craftsmanship. Such clocks adorned the mantels of wealthy bourgeois homes at the time and were a status symbol. This clock is crafted in black marble with red/pink marble accents, gilded ornaments, and an enameled dial with Roman numerals. An elegant and timeless design that perfectly reflects the French decorative art of that period. The clock comes with the original pendulum and winding key.
