Product description
This is an authentic CB02 cabinet, designed by Cees Braakman for the Dutch manufacturer Pastoe. The piece is a characteristic example of the 'Meubelen op Maat' (Custom-Made Furniture) series from the 1950s, a collection known for its modular character and sleek, functional aesthetic.
The cabinet is made of birch wood, finished in a warm, honey-yellow color that accentuates the wood grain. One of the most recognizable details of this design are the iconic 'loop legs' of bent wood, which give the piece a light and almost floating appearance. Behind the two doors, there is a practical layout with two drawers and two shelves, offering ample storage space.
The piece is in good, original condition and shows a patina consistent with its age and use. The construction is solid, and the original finish has been preserved, contributing to the authentic character of the piece. The interior is also in neat vintage condition.
With its compact size, this cabinet is versatile, for example, as a drinks cabinet, sideboard in the living room, or as extra storage in a hallway or study. Its timeless design seamlessly fits into an interior with a preference for Mid-Century Modern, Dutch Design, or an eclectic style.
