Product description
The Olympia Billar is an iconic postmodern pendant and billiard light designed by Spanish designer Jorge Pensi in 1988 for the lighting manufacturer B.Lux (often written as B-Lux).
This distinctive lighting fixture is defined by its polished metal construction and elongated, aerodynamic form. The design captures a futuristic sensibility, notable for its sleek silhouette and highly reflective surface that makes a strong visual statement.
The lamp is constructed from chrome-plated metal, suspended by a dual-rod system that enhances its linear character. Designed to provide focused, downward light, its form is particularly suited for illuminating long surfaces. The name 'Billar' suggests its original intended use over a billiard or pool table, though its application is versatile. The fixture accommodates two 150-watt bulbs, casting substantial light.
This piece presents in a very good vintage condition, retaining its bright, polished finish with integrity. The chrome surface is clean and shows the character of a well-maintained item from its era. The overall structure is sound and complete, reflecting the quality of its original manufacture.
The Olympia Billar lamp is an excellent choice for suspension over a dining table, kitchen island, or conference table. Its unique Space Age aesthetic allows it to serve as a focal point in minimalist, modern, or retro-themed interiors.
