This is an Art Deco vase, model 'Monarch', designed by Paul Heller for the Belgian Glass Factory De Rupel Boom. The piece is a characteristic example of the aesthetic from that period, combining geometric shapes and rich materials.
The vase is made of cobalt blue glass with a crackled texture, also known as ice glass. The object is richly decorated with 24-karat gold, applied in both geometric lines and medallions around the belly of the vase. With a height of 17 cm and a diameter of 15 cm, the vase has a compact, spherical silhouette typical of De Rupel's designs from the 1930s.
The object is in good vintage condition, consistent with its age and use. The authentic finish and hand-painted gold contribute to the unique character of the piece. The combination of deep blue and shiny gold gives the vase a luxurious appearance.
