Product description
Beautiful vintage sideboard from the 1960s, from the estate of the first owners from Haarlem. The designer and manufacturer are unfortunately unknown, but the construction, choice of materials, and neat finish clearly show that it is a piece of good quality furniture. The teak wood has been fully restored. The wood has been carefully sanded, nourished, and refinished with a protective silk-matte finish, bringing out the warm color and wood grain beautifully again. The existing patina and signs of use have been preserved where possible and give the sideboard its authentic character. A small stain is still visible on the top, a subtle trace of over sixty years of use. The cabinet offers a surprising amount of storage space and is also very practically arranged. Behind the two sliding doors are spacious compartments with shelves. On the right are two smoothly running drawers, one of which still has the original cutlery insert; a nice detail and at the same time a beautiful reminder of another time. Below the drawers is another flap door with extra storage space. At first glance, it is a rather sober design, but the proportions and refined details make the whole feel anything but simple. The slender, open base gives the sideboard an airy appearance, and the small inlaid handles blend beautifully into the calm fronts. Together with the warm teak wood, this gives the cabinet that recognizable Scandinavian aesthetic from the 1960s. A stylish and solid sideboard from the 1960s that still looks surprisingly modern today, with a lot of storage space and especially a lot of character. After restoration, it is completely ready for years of use.
