Product description
This is a daybed sofa designed by the influential Dutch modernist Martin Visser for Spectrum. The piece is a celebrated example of post-war Dutch design, known for its functional elegance and minimalist aesthetic, specifically the BR 02 model. The sofa features a straightforward mechanism that allows it to easily convert into a single bed, making it a versatile addition to any space. It is constructed with a sleek, round tubular frame in chrome-plated metal, supporting a seat and backrest upholstered in a durable black textile. The dimensions are 190 cm in width, 70 cm in depth, and 67 cm in height. This example includes an original pillow, presented here in a contrasting blue fabric. This piece presents in very good condition, reflecting careful use over its lifespan. The upholstery and frame have been well-maintained, preserving the clean lines and structural integrity that define Visser's work. The overall presentation is consistent with a vintage item of this era, retaining its authentic character. The daybed's understated form and dual functionality make it an ideal fit for a variety of contemporary interiors, from a minimalist living room to a compact study or guest room. Its timeless design allows it to integrate seamlessly with other Mid-Century or modern furnishings.
