About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This chandelier is a creation by the Dutch manufacturer Raak, dating from the mid-century era. Its distinctive silhouette, often compared to a bunch of grapes, is emblematic of Space Age design and is known as the 'Grape' or 'Druiventros' model.
The lighting fixture consists of numerous textured glass spheres, each suspended individually from a cylindrical metal ceiling plate. The glass features a cracked or frosted finish that diffuses light to create a soft, enveloping ambiance. Produced in the Netherlands, this type of lighting fixture was a centerpiece in modern interiors of the 1960s and 1970s.
This chandelier is presented in good overall condition, consistent with its age and use. The metal structure and glass globes have retained their structural integrity and original aesthetic appeal. The ensemble forms a sculptural and luminous composition that testifies to Raak's craftsmanship.
Ideal as a focal point in a living room, dining room, or entrance hall with sufficient ceiling height, this chandelier integrates perfectly into Mid-Century Modern, eclectic, or contemporary decors. It brings a touch of sophistication and spectacular ambient lighting to any space.
