This is a Solymi armchair, an expressive piece of seating from the Dutch design house Leolux. The chair is defined by its bold, sculptural form and vibrant colourway, making it a notable example of late 20th-century European furniture design. The armchair is upholstered in a striking red leather, which covers the entirety of the seat and backrest. The design features characteristic ruched detailing along the back, adding texture and visual interest. The entire structure is supported by a slender, gracefully curved frame made of polished chrome, which extends into four discreet feet. The separate, adjustable headrest provides enhanced comfort and a dynamic profile. This piece has been well-cared-for and remains in good condition, showing character consistent with its age and history. The leather upholstery is supple and retains its deep, saturated colour. The chair has been used a lot during that time, and that is reflected in the leather. The armchair has clear signs of use and wear on the leather upholstery, more than the matching sofa. It is therefore in a visibly used vintage condition. At the same time, it remains a beautiful chair with a characteristic design. The headrest is adjustable in height, so you can adjust it to your liking.
