About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a characteristic vintage sculpture of a rearing horse, expertly crafted from leather. The object stands out due to its dynamic pose and the rich texture of the material, which gives it an expressive and timeless appearance. The sculpture is entirely covered with dark brown leather, carefully stretched over an underlying form to accentuate the horse's anatomy. The glossy finish emphasizes the deep, warm color and the natural patterns in the leather. The technique testifies to artisanal craftsmanship, likely dating from the mid-20th century. The overall condition of the sculpture is good and consistent with its age. The leather has developed an authentic patina over the years, contributing to the unique character of the piece. The construction is solid and the form is well preserved. This decorative horse is an elegant statement piece that fits perfectly into a classic, eclectic, or country interior. It adds an element of sophistication and history to a library, study, or on a dresser.
