Beautiful table lamp, reading lamp by Jacques Adnet for Valenti.
Made in Spain
1960s
Iconic and very rare piece by this fabulous designer.
Metal structure completely covered in camel-colored leather.
The lampshade tilts via a ball joint.
Its interior is silver-plated, to optimize light diffusion.
Manufacturer and country of manufacture marked in gold on the leather, at the base.
Labels still present under the base and on the switch. Photos.

Jacques Adnet:
In the 1920s and 1930s, Adnet established himself as a major figure in the Art Deco movement.
His association with the Hermès house marked a decisive turning point in his career, allowing him to develop his famous style combining leather and metal.
At the head of the Compagnie des Arts Français, Adnet continued to push the boundaries of design with creations that combined elegance, modernity, and functionality.
Among the designers in his team were leading figures such as François Jourdain, Charlotte Perriand, and Georges Jouve.
In the 1950s, he dedicated himself to furniture design and received numerous commissions, including the decoration of the private apartments of the French president at the Élysée and the meeting room of UNESCO's Parisian headquarters. From 1959 to 1970, he directed the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris.
