About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a characteristic wall light from the German manufacturer Glashütte Limburg, made of thick, textured ice glass. The design is a perfect example of the Brutalist style from the 1970s, known for its robust forms and the use of raw materials. The lamp, model 1847, consists of a heavy, hand-formed glass shade that resembles a block of ice. This shade is mounted on a metal wall plate. When the lamp is on, the textured glass creates a beautiful diffuse and atmospheric light effect on the wall, providing a warm and inviting ambiance. The overall condition is good, with an intact glass shade that retains its original texture and clarity. The lamp is a timeless piece that serves as both functional lighting and a sculptural object. It fits perfectly into a Mid-Century Modern, minimalist, or eclectic interior, for example, as ambient lighting in a hallway, living room, or bedroom.
