Product description
For sale: a beautiful and rare unique work by the important Dutch surrealist Kristians Tonny (1907-1977). This extremely detailed pen and ink drawing shows an imaginative, dreamy spectacle in which a miniature village scene (including a church and a windmill) is overshadowed by monumental, organic surrealist forms. The work is authentically and clearly hand-signed by the artist (K. Tonny) in the lower left. Kristians Tonny worked with the greatest surrealists in Paris, among other places, and his work is included in various museum collections, including the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. A unique collector's item for lovers of classical modernism and surrealist art! • Artist: Kristians Tonny (1907-1977) • Technique: Pen and Indian ink / fine line drawing on paper • Style: Surrealism / Surrealist architecture • Signature: Hand-signed lower left (K. Tonny) • Dimensions: 42 x 29.5 cm (image size / paper size) • Status: Framed behind glass, the frame is functional and ready to hang. Condition: The work itself is in good vintage condition with a beautiful, authentic patina on the paper. The frame shows light, age-related signs of use that are consistent with its age.
