About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a hand-woven Kelim rug, an authentic piece distinguished by its flat-weave technique. The rug is characterized by a rich palette of colors and a complex geometric pattern, typical of the Kelim tradition. A few fringes are not intact, see photo.
The rug is made of wool and features a deep burgundy base color, combined with dark blue, black, and various accent colors such as ochre yellow, orange, pink, and off-white. The patterns consist of traditional, stylized medallions and decorative borders that fill the entire surface. At both ends, the rug is finished with cream-colored fringes, which contributes to its artisanal appearance.
The overall condition of the rug is good, and it shows a character that matches its age and handmade nature. Small irregularities in the weave and colors are inherent to the artisanal production process and contribute to the unique charm of the piece. The rug is well-loved but retains its structural integrity and vibrant appearance.
This Kelim rug is an excellent addition to bring warmth, texture, and color to a living room, dining room, or study. It fits seamlessly into an interior with a Bohemian or eclectic style but can also serve as a powerful statement in a more minimalist or modern environment.
