Set of 3 beautiful museum prints after works by Käthe Kollwitz. 31x41cm. Beautiful set of three framed prints after works by the famous German artist Käthe Kollwitz (1867–1945). Kollwitz is one of the most important German graphic artists of the 20th century. Her work is strongly connected to the history of Germany and focuses on themes such as working-class life, poverty, mother and child, loss, and the consequences of war. After the loss of her son during the First World War, she developed into an outspoken pacifist artist. During the Nazi regime, she also came under pressure due to her social involvement and views. The three works in this set beautifully show her characteristic, expressive drawing style. Especially the depictions of mothers and children are typical of her oeuvre. An atmospheric set for lovers of German art, graphic art, and history. The black frames with passe-partout give the works a timeless look.
