Product description
This is a vintage table lamp from IKEA, model B703, originating from the late 1980s. The piece is a distinct example of Postmodern design, characterized by its playful use of pure geometric forms and functional adjustability.
The lamp features a triangular, wedge-shaped base and a corresponding pyramidal shade, both finished in a clean white lacquer. A telescopic, dual-rod arm made of chrome-plated metal connects the two elements, allowing the height and angle of the light to be modified for task-oriented illumination. A small, contrasting pinkish red switch on the base provides a pop of color, a detail typical of the era's design language. Based on the manufacturer's markings, this model dates to approximately 1989.
This piece remains in a very good vintage condition, showing minimal signs of wear consistent with its age and history. The lamp is fully functional, and its mechanical parts, including the adjustable arm, operate smoothly. The original finish is well-preserved, retaining its intended aesthetic.
With its compact footprint and directional light, this lamp is well-suited for a desk, a nightstand, or as an accent light on a console. Its strong geometric silhouette makes it a compelling addition to interiors with a Postmodern, Memphis, or eclectic style.
