Product description
This is a wooden Sculpture by the Belgian artist Jan Ghesquiere for Houten Dingen, depicting a stylized couple. The work is characterized by its modernist and abstract formal language, with the male and female figures designed with flowing, elongated lines. The Sculpture is crafted from two types of wood. The figures are carved from a dark, richly grained wood, which creates a strong visual contrast with the light, solid wooden base on which they are mounted. The finish emphasizes the natural texture and warm tones of the material. The artist's technique combines abstraction with a recognizable human form, resulting in an expressive yet serene object. The overall condition of the artwork is excellent, retaining its original finish and the character of the wood. The Sculpture exhibits the inherent qualities of a handmade object, with subtle variations that make each piece unique. Due to its understated elegance and compact size, this Sculpture is a refined addition to a sideboard, bookshelf, or desk. It fits seamlessly into a modern, minimalist, or Scandinavian interior, where it adds an artistic and warm accent.
