About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This Gründerzeit parlor table is a representative example of late 19th-century craftsmanship, made from noble walnut wood. The piece of furniture is characterized by its striking octagonal shape and the artistic inlays on the tabletop, which give it an unmistakable character.
The table rests on a stable central pedestal, which divides into four turned legs connected by a cross base. The tabletop, with a diameter of approx. 90 cm and a height of 74 cm, is finished with walnut veneer and features a central star motif surrounded by delicate ornaments. The high-gloss lacquer finish emphasizes the lively grain of the wood and the fine details of the inlays.
The piece is in good condition, commensurate with its age, and retains its original surface, which has developed an authentic patina over time. The tabletop is mostly in beautiful condition but also has some significant scratches. The construction is solid and stable, testifying to the durability and quality of the manufacturing of that era.
As a central coffee table in a classic living room or as an elegant side table in a library or reception area, this parlor table sets a refined accent. It harmonizes particularly well with antique furniture and opulent fabrics and becomes a focal point of conversation in any interior.
