Private sellerProduct description
This is a vintage floor lamp by the Italian manufacturer Francesconi. The design, often referred to as a 'UFO' or 'saucer' lamp, is a characteristic example of the Space Age design that was popular in the 1970s.
The lamp has a large, saucer-shaped reflector made of lacquered metal, resting on a round base. The exterior is finished in black, creating a strong contrast with the white lacquered interior that ensures maximum light diffusion. Centrally in the saucer is a large sphere of white opal glass that emits a soft and diffuse light. As can be seen on the label, this piece was produced in Brescia, Italy.
The lamp is in good, working condition and retains its original parts. The structure shows a patina and signs of wear consistent with its age, which contributes to the authentic character of the object. The glass sphere is intact.
Due to its low profile, this floor lamp is a striking object suitable for atmospherically illuminating a seating area. It is an excellent addition to an interior in Mid-Century Modern, Space Age, or eclectic style.
