This is the iconic 'Tavolo Con Ruote' coffee table, a famous design by Gae Aulenti for the Italian brand FontanaArte. The piece is a perfect example of how industrial design and refined elegance can come together, with a thick glass top resting on four robust castor wheels. The table is made from a clear, heavy glass plate measuring 120 by 120 cm. The base consists of four industrial rubber wheels with black metal fixings, a bold choice that has become a design classic. This 1980 design was inspired by the trolleys used in the FontanaArte factory and is part of the MoMA collection in New York. The table is in good, used condition and retains its structural integrity and unique character. There is slight - barely visible - damage on one edge.
