This is a porcelain Sculpture by the Italian artist Giuseppe Armani, created in 1987. The work, titled 'Great Spotted Woodpecker', depicts the bird in a lifelike pose on a tree stump.
The Sculpture is made of porcelain and hand-painted in realistic colors, including black, white, and red on the bird, and earthy tones for the tree stump and mushrooms. The whole is mounted on a wooden base, fitted with a metal plate bearing the name 'G. Armani'. On the reverse, the Sculpture is marked with 'FLORENCE', the copyright year 1987, and the characteristic Capodimonte 'N' with a crown, confirming its authenticity and origin.
