About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This vintage inkwell is made of solid black marble, a piece that evokes the elegance of old-fashioned desks. Its geometric and refined silhouette is characteristic of the Art Deco style, bringing a touch of timeless sophistication.
The set consists of a sculpted rectangular base with an integrated pen holder and a cubic ink pot. The lid of the ink pot is mounted on a metal hinge and houses a removable glass insert. The piece is made of deep black marble, crossed by fine white veins that make each example unique. The polished finish of the marble highlights the richness of the stone.
In good vintage condition, this inkwell retains its character and authenticity. The patina of use testifies to its history and past use, adding to its charm. The original glass insert is present but damaged.
Perfect for adorning a classic-style desk, a cabinet of curiosities, or a contemporary workspace, this object adds a note of refinement and history. It harmonizes beautifully with dark wood paneling or creates a striking contrast on lighter surfaces.
The inkwell lid has a slight, almost invisible chip (see photo).
