Product description
Superb and authentic duo of small mugs
(tasting tankards) in art stoneware, produced by
the prestigious Guérin pottery in Bouffioulx (Belgium)
during the 1960s / 1970s.
Each piece is handcrafted from salt-glazed stoneware,
characterized by a nuanced beige body with flamed
decorations and brown drips with a superb satin sheen.
The front features an embossed escutcheon depicting
a stylized fleur-de-lis, a traditional emblem of
this Walloon art craft.
The structure has its contrasting dark handle and
rests on a small circular raw stoneware pedestal base.
Under the base, the workshop's monogram is found
engraved in the clay, and one of the pieces retains
its original "Guérin Bouffioulx" paper label.
A magnificent set for a brewing collection.
