A rose, a few shades of blue, and all the elegance of mid-20th century French tableware. This flat earthenware plate from Digoin Sarreguemines belongs to the very charming Cannes pattern. Its decor features two large roses in old rose and burgundy tones, accompanied by delicately shaded blue foliage. Around the floral decor runs a pale blue frieze made of arches, stylized foliage, and small dots. It lightly frames the composition and gives the plate that lovely balance between floral tradition and the characteristic graphic design of the era's productions. Produced in France around , its reverse side bears the mark Cannes, Digoin Sarreguemines, France, accompanied by the number 10. With a diameter of approximately 23 cm, it can naturally complete a Cannes set that has become incomplete over the years. But on its own, it possesses enough character to make its own statement. On a table set with mismatched antique faience, hung on a wall among a few chosen plates, or simply placed on a display cabinet, its large rose almost becomes a small painting.
