About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This Desk is a work by the Dutch designer Derk Jan De Vries, dating back to the 1980s. The piece stands out for its architectural structure and the expressive grain of the wood, characteristic of the postmodern design of the period, combining functionality and a strong sculptural presence. Excellent condition.
Made entirely of light wood, probably ash, the Desk showcases a solid construction and a clean aesthetic. The trestle base provides stability and visual interest, while the rectangular top with rounded corners offers a generous work surface. Two drawers are suspended under the top, whose curved fronts and circular recessed handles are distinctive design details that highlight attention to form and function.
The overall condition of this vintage Desk is very good, with the original finish preserving the warmth and character of the wood. The prominent grain is an intrinsic decorative element, making every angle unique. The robust construction and quality of materials ensure its durability over time, maintaining its original charm.
Thanks to its balanced design and natural wood color, this Desk fits perfectly into a home office, study, or bedroom. It integrates harmoniously into Scandinavian, minimalist, or Mid-Century Modern style interiors, adding a touch of authentic 1980s Dutch design.
