About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a DS-102 sofa, manufactured by the Swiss manufacturer de Sede. This specific model is known for its sculptural, organic shape and the exceptional craftsmanship characteristic of the brand. The design, dating from the late 1960s, is an icon of the Mid-Century Modern era and is valued for its combination of comfort and avant-garde aesthetics.
The sofa is fully upholstered in supple, deep red leather. The construction shows the attention to detail for which de Sede is known, particularly in the distinctive, hand-stitched cross seams along the armrests. The whole rests on slender, tapered metal legs that enhance the sofa's floating appearance. The generous, loose cushions contribute to the inviting comfort of the furniture.
The overall condition of the sofa is good, with a characteristic patina that has developed over the years. The leather is intact and retains its rich color, with the natural folds and signs of wear that one would expect from a vintage piece. These traces contribute to the authentic appearance of the sofa.
With its striking silhouette and vibrant color, this de Sede sofa is a statement piece that fits seamlessly into both modern and eclectic interiors. It functions excellently as a central element in a living room and can be combined with other design classics or serve as a contrast in a more minimalist environment.
