About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This piece is an authentic French wine or cider pump, manufactured by E. Moreau-Artaud in Mâcon. Constructed from solid wood with copper and brass details, it testifies to the industrial craftsmanship of the era. Its functional design and provenance from a renowned wine region make it a unique collector's and decorative item, carrying a rich history.
The structure is primarily made of wood, displaying a deep and warm patina. The pump mechanism, operated by a large lever, as well as the manufacturer's plate, are made of metals such as copper and brass, adding contrasting metallic touches. The oval plate proudly indicates its origin: "Machines Pompes & Appareils Viti-Vinicoles, E. Moreau-Artaud, Succ.r, Mâcon France", placing its production in the context of French winemaking engineering.
The item is presented in its original condition, with the signs of wear and patina that have developed over decades of use. These imperfections do not diminish its aesthetic value but rather reinforce its authentic character and the soul of an object that has had a working life. It is sold as a decorative object, its current functionality is not guaranteed.
Ideal as a centerpiece in a wine cellar, a restaurant, or a rustic or industrial-style interior, this wine pump brings a touch of character and history. It integrates perfectly into a decor that values artisanal objects and industrial heritage.
