Product description
A ceramic plate featuring a reactive blue and black glaze with a natural ceramic rim.
Beautiful large hand-thrown studio pottery bowl with a rich. atmospheric blue glaze. The interior moves from soft denim blue around the edges to a much deeper midnight blue at the centre. with naturally speckled and swirling variations created during firing.
The unglazed underside reveals the warm. pale stoneware body and traces of the handmade production process. A small incised triangular potter’s mark is visible on the base. although the maker has not been identified.
With its generous proportions. subtle irregularities and earthy exposed rim. this is a lovely example of 20th-century studio pottery — equally suited as a serving bowl or as a decorative centrepiece.

Condition: Good vintage condition with minor traces of age and use.
