Product description
Dining set by Arne Vodder, produced by Sibast in 1960 in Denmark. The set consists of an extendable dining table and four matching dining chairs, model 430, in rosewood.
The chairs exude craftsmanship in terms of design, construction, use of solid rosewood, and magnificent joints. The floating seats with a seat height of 46 cm and the curved backrest provide good ergonomic seating comfort and are upholstered in black wool worsted.
The chairs are in good used condition, retaining their original finish and the characteristic patina of the rosewood. The construction is sturdy and the upholstery is used but presentable, indicating careful use over the years. One of the chairs has a visible repair, see last photo.
The accompanying extendable dining table exudes the same craftsmanship as the chairs. Here too, beautifully rounded shapes, magnificent details, elegant simplicity, and functionality.
The square shape can easily be extended to a spacious rectangular dining table by means of the integrated extension leaves. When retracted, the table measures 100 by 100 cm and comfortably seats 4 people. When extended, the table becomes 200 by 100 cm and can easily seat 6 people, and if necessary, 8. The carefully finished edges of solid rosewood emphasize the craftsmanship of Sibast.
The table is in good used condition. The tabletop has been professionally refinished with a durable UV and water-resistant lacquer, preserving its original appearance.
This advertisement concerns the set of 4 chairs plus table. Chairs and table are also available separately, see my other advertisements.
