Private sellerProduct description
This is an antique, handcrafted ship model, a testament to detailed craftsmanship. Made of wood with textile sails, the model depicts a two-masted sailing ship with remarkable attention to historical accuracy. The complexity of the rigging and the hull construction make it a captivating Decorative Object.
The model is carefully constructed with a dark lacquered wooden hull and a deck of lighter, plank-shaped wood. The two masts are fully rigged with beige textile sails and a complex network of ropes, pulleys, and blocks. Various details can be found on the deck, such as an anchor, winches, and other nautical elements, contributing to its realism. The ship rests on a simple wooden stand that accentuates the shape of the hull.
The overall condition of the model is very good, with a patina consistent with its age. The woodwork and sails are well preserved, and the model appears to be complete, with no obvious missing parts. The aging of the materials contributes to the authentic and characterful appearance of the piece.
This ship model is an elegant and atmospheric object that adds a touch of maritime history to any interior. It is particularly suitable for placement on a sideboard, in a study, or as a centerpiece in a display cabinet, where its craftsmanship can be fully appreciated.
