Product description
NO SHIPPING - NO DELIVERY Magnificent antique Rothmann sewing machine, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century, accompanied by its pedal cabinet and its Singer wooden protective cover. The machine features an elegant black finish adorned with golden floral motifs, characteristic of sewing machines from that era. It rests on a remarkable French wrought iron base, attributed to the Nouveau & Cie (N&Cie) manufacture, bearing its monogram. Its rich decoration of volutes, vegetal curves, and openwork ornaments is part of the Art Nouveau aesthetic. The machine's metal plate bears the inscription « SINAVE-MIGNOT – RUE NEUVE 55 – BRUXELLES », testifying to its sale in this Brussels establishment. The set also includes a wooden table with a decorative border and a removable protective cover. Condition and operation: - Machine mechanism turns freely, without seizing. - Base, pedal mechanism, and drive wheel are also manually mobile and functional. - Drive belt is missing. - Sewing function not tested. - Patina and traces of use consistent with the age of the set. A beautiful collector's item, as interesting for its history as for its decorative qualities. It will perfectly find its place in an antique interior, a workshop, a vintage shop, or with a sewing machine collector. Price: 249 € negotiable. Collection only on site in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, by appointment. No shipping possible due to weight and bulk.
