Private sellerProduct description
This is a set of four antique Chinese porcelain tiles, each hand-painted. The tiles stand out for their vibrant, narrative scenes that offer a glimpse into traditional children's games, a beloved theme in Chinese art symbolizing happiness and numerous offspring.Crafted from porcelain, each tile is decorated with a polychrome palette. The scenes include a dragon dance, kite flying, and various games, all set against a backdrop of classical Chinese landscapes and architecture. The fine brushstrokes and attention to detail are characteristic of Asian decorative arts. The set is in good condition, commensurate with its age, and shows an authentic patina that enhances its historical character. The colors have generally remained bright. The unfinished back of the tiles suggests they were originally intended to be framed or mounted in a piece of furniture. These tiles can be framed individually or as a group and displayed as Wall decoration. They add an element of classical Asian aesthetics to an eclectic or traditional interior and can serve as a unique decorative accent.
