Product description
This is a set of two sculptural bowls, crafted in the distinctive style of the celebrated Italian design house Alessi. The pieces are constructed from silver-toned metal rods, arranged in a dynamic, seemingly chaotic pattern. Their design is a clear homage to the iconic 'Blow Up' collection, created by the Campana Brothers, which deconstructs form into a series of interconnected sticks.
Each bowl is meticulously assembled from numerous small metal rods, welded together to create a stable yet airy, openwork structure. The material appears to be stainless steel with a uniform brushed finish, giving the pieces a contemporary and industrial character. This construction technique results in a form that plays with positive and negative space, making the bowls visually engaging from every angle. The silver colour is neutral, allowing the complex geometry of the design to be the primary focus.
The overall condition of both bowls is very good, with the structural integrity fully intact. The metalwork is clean, and the brushed finish is consistent across the surfaces, showing minimal evidence of use. The craftsmanship reflects the complex nature of the design, with each weld point contributing to the strength of the whole.
These versatile pieces function equally well as fruit bowls on a kitchen counter, as decorative centrepieces on a dining table, or as standalone sculptural objects on a console or bookshelf. Their modern, slightly industrial aesthetic makes them a suitable addition to contemporary, minimalist, or eclectic interiors.
