About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
An authentic LKR lounge chair, designed by Charles and Ray Eames and produced by Herman Miller. This piece is an example of the influential Mid-Century Modern design, where functionality and aesthetics converge. The iconic design is characterized by the organically shaped shell and the distinctive 'cat's cradle' base, a combination that makes the chair a sought-after design icon. The seat shell is made of fiberglass, recognizable by the visible fiber structure that makes each piece unique. The color of the shell is a subtle greige or taupe shade, exuding tranquility and refinement. The base is made of chromed steel, ensuring a sturdy construction and an elegant contrast with the seat. This model, the LKR (Lounge Height K-Wire Shell Rod Base), is specifically designed for a relaxed sitting posture. The chair is in very good vintage condition, with a character that matches its age. The fiberglass shell has retained its original luster, and the chrome base is solid and stable. The combination of materials and the overall condition attest to the durable quality for which Eames designs and Herman Miller production are known. With its timeless appearance and compact size, this LKR lounge chair is a versatile addition to various interior styles. The chair functions excellently as a solitary accent chair in a living room, reading nook, or bedroom and fits seamlessly into both modern and more eclectically furnished spaces.
