Norell
Norell draws much of its inspiration from Danish designers in the way it mixes different materials. The result is timeless pieces born of excellent craftsmanship. The "Ari" armchair (1966) is certainly his best-known creation. The "Sirocco" armchair (1964) is a reinterpretation of Kaare Klint's "Safari" armchair. Arne Norell was born in Sweden in 1917. In 1954, he founded his own design studio in Stockholm. He then moved to Småland, a beautiful region known for its forests and lakes. In 1958, he founded Möbel AB Arne Norell (now Norell Möbel AB). This company published his furniture and continues to produce all his creations. In 1973, he was posthumously awarded the British "Showpiece of the year" prize for his Ari chair. Norell played a major role in the development of Scandinavian design worldwide.
