Most know the artist Ad van Hassel from his paintings and serigraphs with tulips in all kinds of variations. This work -face in pop art style- is clearly influenced by his collaboration with Herman Brood, Peter Diem and Shunyam. They made use of Hassel's craftsmanship as a screen printer. Corneille, Jan Cremer and Rob Scholte did the same, all in all not the least artists... This screen print is made in an edition of 80 pieces, this is number 22. The work is signed at the bottom left and provided with the punched stamp 'Hassel Art'. Screen print dimensions: 37 x 37 cm Dimensions frame: 49 x 49 cm The screen print is glued to a panel that is mounted in a gray-black frame to create a 3D effect. The gray frame has some signs of use appropriate to its age. The whole is in a beautiful condition and can be mounted on the wall! Please note: the stated shipping costs are within the Netherlands. For shipping to, among others, Belgium, Germany or England, ask the seller about the costs! Ad van Hassel was born in Roosendaal in 1953. He trained as a visual artist in the studio of Maarten Krabbé. Here he learns to work with different techniques. Themes of his work are often landscapes, flowers and cityscapes. His sense of detail is mainly reflected in his etchings. In 1985 an etching by him was therefore included in the Rijksprentenkabinet of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. In 1980 Ad van Hassel started painting. After years of creative wanderings, in 1983 he started two exclusive galleries in the Amsterdam Sonesta and Krasnapolsky hotels. Best known, however, are his tulip paintings and his colorful serigraphs. In 1990 Van Hassel focused on making screen prints of his paintings. He achieved such good quality that other artists soon had their work screen printed by him. He was Herman Brood's house printer for 12 years.
