Original lithograph by Roger Wittevrongel (born in Blankenberge in 1933), portrait of a partially undressed woman; this is a lithograph from 1984, an edition of 99 copies, this is number 79, signed, numbered, and dated in pencil, framed behind glass by a local art dealer.
Roger Wittevrongel trained at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent and also obtained a teacher training degree in plastic arts; for many years he was active as a lecturer in etching, drawing, and lithography techniques at the academy in Ghent.
He is known for his hyperrealistic drawings of people, objects, still lifes, or interiors, but primarily women, preferably nude or partially undressed. He is also known as the leading representative of hyperrealism in Belgium.
His work is included in various museums, including MuZEE, the SMAK, the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp, and the Flemish art collection. This piece is in excellent vintage condition. Check the photos for more details!
