The Knoll Saarinen Conference Chair is a design by Eero Saarinen. In the early 1940s, Eero worked with Charles Ray Eames on bending veneers. Saarinen had a taste for it and became interested in bending other materials as well. From 1946 to 1950, he developed and perfected the Conference (arm) chair, a particularly ornate conference chair. The seat is made of plywood and the curved backrest of molded polyurethane.
