For over seventy years, the Model 71 dining chair has been a favorite in both executive suites and stylish residential interiors. This timeless icon of mid-century design, designed in 1950 by Eero Saarinen for Knoll International, continues to enhance any space with its sculptural elegance and understated refinement.
Saarinen sought to eliminate visual clutter and created a chair that flows seamlessly from seat to back in a single, continuous, organic line. The result is a design that feels sculpted rather than constructed, soft in silhouette yet rooted in architectural precision.
This particular example features the original chrome-plated steel base and has been reupholstered in a premium wool fabric by Pierre Frey, with all-new foam padding for exceptional comfort and longevity. The rich texture of the fabric, combined with the chair's generous curves and integrated armrests, allows for long and comfortable dining sessions in style and ease.
