For over seventy years, the Model 71 dining chair has been a favorite in both executive suites and stylish residential interiors. Designed in 1950 by Eero Saarinen for Knoll International, this timeless icon of mid-century design continues to enhance any space with its sculptural elegance and understated refinement.
Saarinen sought to eliminate visual clutter and created a chair that flows seamlessly from seat to back in a single, continuous, organic line. The result is a design that feels sculpted rather than constructed, soft in silhouette yet rooted in architectural precision.
This particular example retains its original chromed steel base and has been reupholstered in a high-quality, multi-colored fabric of mohair, alpaca, and wool by Pierre Frey, with all-new foam padding for exceptional comfort and longevity.
