Translandia (DK) – Set of 6 Pine Veneer Wall Lights, Denmark 1960s/70s
A matching set of six wall lights by the Danish manufacturer Translandia – original nameplate “Translandia DK, Type 4411” present. Translandia produced a wide range of pine veneer lights in Denmark, contemporaneous with and formally related to the designs by Hans-Agne Jakobsson for Ellysett in Markaryd.
Curved pine veneer slats on solid pine arches, so-called “visor lights.” When switched on, the wood glows from within – warm and translucent – and the staggered slats cast a graphic interplay of light and shadow onto the wall.
Six lights – this allows for a cohesive yet varied lighting scheme for an entire room, hallway, or stairwell. Six matching Translandia wall lights in one lot are rare on the market.

Condition – honest and complete:
Vintage condition commensurate with age and visible signs of wear:
• Minor damage to the pine veneer (chips or fine cracks on individual slats)
• Traces of wall paint on some pieces – the lights were apparently not removed during a renovation
• Otherwise completely original – no replacement parts, no reproductions, no restoration
The paint residue can be carefully removed with patience and a soft plastic scraper. I have deliberately left this to the buyer to avoid damaging the thin veneer. Detailed photos of all affected areas are part of this listing.
