Stepped Art Deco/Bauhaus mirror lamp Model Jst4 designed by Adolf Meyer, produced around 1928 by Zeiss Ikon. Metal parts of brass and copper, upper glass satin and silver plated, lower glass satined, which creates a warm diffused light. The pendulum is adjustable in height, with which the total length can be set from 65-92 cm. Diameter of the lower brass ring is approx. 32 cm. Small parts of the silver-plated mirror glass have loosened over time in its entirety, minor wear commensurate with age and use. An extra bottom glass is included. ZEISS IKON started out in 1926 as a German manufacturer of optical instruments, including still cameras, binoculars and microscopes. Adolf Meyer (1881-1929) was a German architect and designer, he is best known as an associate of Walter Gropius and as an architecture teacher at the Bauhaus.
