Beautiful painting, seascape with cliffs, oil on antique wood, signed Ruben lower left - Paul RUBEN (1882-1955) - framed in a very attractive frame with wide, light, unfinished wood moldings and grooves, very elegant. Magnificent colors enhanced with turquoise, a very luminous painting. Panel only 46x33cm landscape format, with frame 55x43cm total, 4cm thick. Very good overall condition, however, the painting shows some fine craquelure in the oil across the entire surface, due to the wood grain, a few small stains in the upper left corner in particular, wood visible in some areas, wear or original, a very discreet small hole at the top center, probably from a previous hanging. The frame is very clean with slight wood grain in the corners, large hanging hook on the back. A harmonious piece. This could be one of the artist's early works, as the P in the signature is not present, possibly dating from the 1920s-1930s. Approximately 1.500-2kg.
