Expressive, abstract painting with a powerful color composition. A vibrant orange background is punctuated by a central, thickly applied, deep blue form. The reduced, almost sculptural visual language lends the work a strong presence and is reminiscent of gestural painting from the 1970s. Framed in a high-quality, dark blue wooden frame with a fine, gold-colored inner edge that further emphasizes the color effect. The reverse bears a label from a Swiss framer. Signed W. Schott, presumably a Swiss artist associated with abstract painting of the 1970s.
Condition: Good condition with minor signs of age and wear on the frame and minimal irregularities in the paint surface.
