Superb large vintage painting from the 1960s-80s by John Haanstra, a Dutch painter, depicting a colorful winter city scene on a street lined with charming buildings and populated by small figures strolling and shopping. Exquisite detail, magnificent technique, beautiful lighting. Oval format, wooden frame, gilded with Rococo/Art Nouveau gold leaf. 61 x 50 cm, 2.5 cm thick, with frame; 50 x 40 cm unframed. In very good condition, with nothing noticeable except for a few minor scratches and signs of age on the frame, discreet and harmonious. Approximately 2 kg.
