Presented here is a vibrant collectible porcelain box from Rosenthal’s acclaimed Reiseimpressionen series, titled “Adventures in Asia.” This example is Sammeldose No. 10 in the collection and translates travel impressions of Asia into a bold, graphic visual language characteristic of late-20th-century Rosenthal design.
Conceived as both a functional container and a miniature artwork, the box reflects Rosenthal’s long tradition of collaborating with international designers to transform porcelain into a medium of cultural storytelling.
Design & Decoration
The cylindrical form is wrapped in a lively, colourful composition inspired by Asian architecture, landscapes, and ornamental rhythms. Rather than literal illustration, the décor works through stylisation, geometry, and colour contrasts, creating an impression of movement and density—suggestive of travel, encounters, and visual abundance.
