Product description
Rare bookcases by architect-designer Jean Nouvel, created in collaboration with the manufacturer Zeritalia in 1999.
The structure is composed of blue, red, or translucent Plexiglas/glass panels forming three compartments, fitted with cubbies and shelves, one or two of which rotate 360° on a ball-bearing system, allowing for customizable color variations.
These bookcases belong to Jean Nouvel's Compact series. They are true collector's items, as this model, produced in a small, now sold-out series, has not been reissued.
Its modernist aesthetic, reminiscent of Mondrian's use of color and the experimental approach of the Bauhaus, gives it all the hallmarks of a design icon.
