ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:
Michel Seuphor (1901-1999), born on March 10, 1901, in Antwerp, Belgium, was an influential artist, writer, and critic. He is best known for his contribution to abstract art and his role in the 20th-century art world.
In the 1920s, Seuphor moved to Paris, where he immersed himself in the avant-garde art scene. He befriended many leading artists of the time, including Piet Mondrian. Seuphor became a fervent advocate of abstract art. In addition to his work as an artist, Seuphor was a prolific writer and critic, publishing numerous articles and books on abstract art.
