Original Barcelona Coffee Table By Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe For Knoll, 1920s United States. Based On The Combination Of The Original Knoll Label And The Engraved KnollStudio Signature On The Frame, We Believe This Particular Example Dates From Around The 1990s, Likely From A Transitional Period In Which Knoll Moved From Using Labels Towards Permanent Engraved Markings. The Table Features Its Characteristic Minimalist Construction, With A Polished Chrome Frame Supporting A Thick Square Glass Top. The Clean Geometry And Restrained Use Of Materials Are Typical Of Mies Van Der Rohe’s Work And Give The Table Its Timeless And Architectural Appearance. Originally Designed In 1929 For The German Pavilion At The International Exposition In Barcelona, The Table Has Remained One Of Mies Van Der Rohe’s Most Recognisable Furniture Designs And Has Been Produced By Knoll For Many Decades. This Example Remains In Good Vintage Condition With Signs Of Use Consistent With Its Age. The Glass Top Has Surface Scratches From Use, While Importantly The Glass Edges Remain In Very Good Condition Without Chips Or Significant Damage. The Chrome Frame Presents Well And Retains Both The KnollStudio Engraving And The Original “Mies Van Der Rohe Collection” Label. Overall, A Well-Preserved And Nicely Documented Vintage Example Of This Iconic Knoll Design. Measurements: Height: 46 Cm Width: 100 Cm Depth: 100 Cm
