Product description
This is an authentic first edition printing of the 44th Monaco Grand Prix 1986 poster, designed by acclaimed illustrator Jean Grognet and printed in Monte Carlo by AIP Monaco. The artwork captures the vibrancy of 1980s Formula 1 with a dynamic drawing of a Marlboro McLaren car charging through the principality’s tight streets.
🏆 Why This Race Was Legendary:
The 1986 Monaco Grand Prix (held May 11) is considered one of the most dramatic in F1 history:
🟠 Alain Prost (McLaren) started from pole and led early but struggled with tire issues
🟡 Nigel Mansell (Williams-Honda) took the lead but retired due to mechanical failure
🟢 Ayrton Senna, then driving for Lotus, seized the opportunity and claimed his first Monaco victory, launching his legend in the sport
A 78-lap thriller full of rain, strategy, heartbreak and brilliance – this race became one of Monaco’s most iconic editions.
