Product description
Keith Haring (May 4, 1958, Pennsylvania – February 16, 1990, New York) was an American artist. His father was a cartoonist and primarily drew comic strips. He was an important source of inspiration for Keith. Keith Haring's artwork belongs to the category of modern art. This art movement is also called graffiti art or Pop Art. Haring primarily draws abstract figures (both people and animals) in all sorts of colors. He worked mostly in New York, but also spent a year in Amsterdam. Keith Haring believed that art should be for everyone, not just the rich. Therefore, he started making chalk drawings in subway stations, in the middle of the street, and so on. His work was everywhere, making him very popular. This, of course, caused his works to become more expensive, making them unaffordable for everyone. Keith Haring doesn't just paint. There are also sculptures that clearly identify them as his work. He sometimes painted people's bodies with all sorts of abstract figures. He died of AIDS. Technique: Lithography incl. license stamp Signed: Print signed Number: 48/200 Size: 35x50 cm Framed: Unframed Condition: In excellent condition
